A little about Jimmy Hoppa.......

Hometown:    Selinsgrove, PA   I went to high school and college (Susquehanna University) in this little town in Central PA.

How did you get into radio?       As a kid I LOVED music, and listened to the radio all the time.....not country at that time, but Top 40 stations.  From listening to the radio, it sounded like a really fun thing to do!  While in 10th grade in high school, I got my first job at the local radio station in Selinsgrove.....playing Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee and the rest of the standards singers.  I wasn't much into the music, but hey, I was ON THE RADIO!   And I really grew to love those standards, and today those singers and their songs are some off my all-time favorites.  If I never had that job, I may never have gotten the appreciation for that genre of music!

What I do in my free time.....    I will always have an interest in music, and of all types.  I'm always listening to see what's new out there, and keep listening to old favorites.  I love going out to concerts, in small (Club Cafe) or large (Post Gazette Pavilion) venues.   I run and go to the gym 5 days a week, sometimes more.  When I run, it's for 3 miles, and I regularly do 5K runs in the area - I have quite a t-shirt collection going!

Worst job I ever had?    First summer break of college...I worked in a factory that put together pickup truck caps.  I was on a line doing the same thing over and over and over.  And of course, you're not working in air conditioning!  That was a tough job.

Favorite TV show?     Hands down, my all-time favorite is "Seinfeld".  I got into the show in 1992, one of its better seasons.  I have most of the magazines that came out when the show ended, quite a collection.  I've been on "Kramer's Reality Tour" in New York City twice - if you love the show, you have to do this - you see many of the sites from Seinfeld, get your picture outside the restaurant, and it's all done with the REAL Kenny Kramer, who the character was based on.    I've seen Jerry's stand-up act 5 times.
