A little about Jimmy...
About Me: I've been a DJ for a long, long time. Which is good, because I don't know how to do anything else!! I'm married to Karen, who was the only girl who would go out with me in high school. I have 2 kids, Kim and Jamie, and 4 grand-babies!!
High School/College: I graduated from evening school after being thrown out of 4 high schools for having long hair. I then went to Ohio State for a year or so until I realized that someone had to pay the bills for my wife and baby, so I quit and got a job making stoves for 2 bucks an hour!! Then it hit me that stoves weren't going to cut it, so I left that exciting field for broadcasting. (Still at 2 bucks an hour!)
Hometown: I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and then escaped to the South Hills of Pittsburgh, where I still live.
Favorite Music: I love great songs, regardless of type. Garth Brooks has always been the
favorite singer that I've met, because he truly went out of his way to make me feel comfortable--and he remembered my name 2 years later!! I've got relatives who can't do that!!
Favorite Song: My favorite song has been and will always be, "The Dance" by Garth. It's just a perfect song!
Favorite Hobby/Interests/Activities: I love to work out. And running is still as much fun today as it was when I was a kid!
Favorite TV Show: Seinfeld was the best!! And "30 Rock" is the best of the recent shows that I've found.
Favorite Movie: Gone with the Wind, the Godfather, and Raising Arizona can't be beat!
Favorite Food: I'm a lasagna guy! And pie!!! You can put just about anything in a pie-crust and I'll be there!!
Beverage of Choice: I've had a couple of glasses of iced tea just about every day since I was a kid!
Worst Fear: My worst nightmare is the old DJ standby--being stuck in the restroom when the song ends!! It's never happened in real life, but I've had the dream about 100 times!!
Pet Peeves: I've always hated cigarettes! And the fact that I have to breath someone else's bad habit! I've got enough of my own dumb ways to kill myself, I don't need outside help!
Favorite celebrity you’ve met: That would have to be Mister Rogers!
Hidden Talents: I think I'm the world's best singer!! And someday I'll unleash myself on an unsuspecting public!
Is there anybody you would still love to meet that you haven’t yet? I've been very lucky in that I've met everyone that comes to mind.
A little about Wendy...
About Me: How does full time career woman, mom, homemaker, caregiver, sports fanatic, golf addict, and avid reader sound? That’s me, all rolled into one!
High School/College: South Allegheny High School (go Glads!) and Edinboro University, home of the fighting Scots!
Hometown: grew up in Liberty Boro, now live in the home of Dean Martin....Steubenville, OH!
Favorite Music: Love all kinds of music because it puts me in a good mood. The coolest musician I was able to hang-out with is Kenny Chesney before he was big. I took him a bottle of wine and two Dixie cups and we hung out behind his bus at the PG Pavilion and partied.
Favorite Song: all-time favorite song? Whew! I really can't pick just one because every time I hear one that I THINK is my favorite I hear another one and think the same thing!
Favorite Hobby/Interests/Activities: A day in the life of Wendy Green after the Green Team wraps up a show? Power nap, power walk, power read, power eat, power sleep. Up and back at it again at 2:30am! Love walking, reading, eating, golfing, but most of all....sleeping! Its something Jimmy Roach and I NEVER get to do because we want to share our mornings with you!
Favorite TV Show: Seinfeld, The Sopranos. Ain't nuttin' better. Period.
Favorite Movie: To Kill a Mockingbird. Plain and simple. Almost named my daughter, "Scout" after one of the lead characters but then Demi Moore went and did it so I didn't.
Favorite Food: Trust me, I will eat anything. And probably love it!
Beverage of Choice: um, it rhymes with beer...
Worst Fear: merging in traffic. Just ask Jimmy Roach.....I'm on an anti-merge campaign.
Pet Peeves: I absolutely cannot stand when people litter. Why would someone want to dirty this beautiful earth? I also really get peeved when I find gum stuck to the bottom of a seat like at a Steeler Game or when I take my mother to the movies!
Favorite celebrity you’ve met: Paul McCartney and his late wife, Linda. No question. An indescribable moment in my life and I was extremely lucky to get the chance.
Hidden Talents: oddly enough, I can remember telephone numbers even after I'm only told them once. Isn't there something I can take for that?!
Is there anybody you would still love to meet that you haven’t? The man who invented the alarm clock so I could box his ears!
Something you just want everybody to know: I'm a natural blonde. Just ask Jimmy Roach the next time you see him.
The Green Team's ON-AIR Memories...
Funniest ON-AIR Interview:
Jimmy: Arnold Schwarzenegger-he was funny and very quick!
Wendy: We love having guest artists come into the studio. When Josh Gracin came in and played video games with us on our computer it was a blast. Then when Kenny Chesney spent an hour with us in his flip flops and baseball cap acting just like our next door neighbor we were amazed!
Funniest ON-AIR Moment:
Jimmy: It was the day that we had a short in the control board and the microphones were turned on even though they were in the "off" position! The public was treated to 15 minutes of studio chatter that we didn't know was going out over the air!!! Now that's entertainment!
Wendy: When Phil Vassar called the Froggy phone one morning from his car as he was taking his kids to school. He just chatted as if he was a normal husband/father (he was married at the time) and we could hear the kids talking and laughing. It was soooo real and simple.
Worst ON-AIR Moment:
Jimmy: I was describing a tragedy in the news, when the door burst open and an exotic dancer came in, with swiveling hips and loud music! Needless to say, it was tough to describe to the audience what had just happened!
Wendy: haven't had one yet....thank God!
The Green Teams Words of Wisdom...
“If you're not nice...stay home!” – Jimmy Roach
"It's Nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!" -Wendy Green
The Green Team loves Froggyland because...
Jimmy: Of all the places I've travelled, people here are the kindest and warmest that I've found! By far!
Wendy: yinz make it the best place in the world to live, n'at!!
